Teresa Samples, 75

Teresa Diane (Jackson) Samples, 75, of rural Elliott, passed away Aug. 31, 2025 at the Care Essentials Care Center in Atlantic. She succumbed to a long battle with Metastic Breast and Bone Cancer. The family wishes to thank George Maxwell Starlin, P.A., The Griswold Ambulance Team and the staff of Care Essentials for your loving care and concern for Teresa.
Teresa was born Aug. 3, 1950. She was the eldest of five children adopted by Ralph and Marilyn Jackson and grew up on their farm west of Elliott. She graduated with the Class of 1969 from Griswold High School. After graduation she briefly attended the School of Nursing at Omaha Methodist. She met and married John Lane and moved to California with the U.S. Air Force. She spent most of the reminder of her life in California. Teresa loved her children and in later years took great joy from her grandchildren.
Teresa was preceded in death by her husband, Walt Samples of Elliott; ex-husband, John Lane of Sacramento, Calif.; her parents, Ralph and Marilyn Jackson of Elliott; her grandson, Robert Lane of Omaha, Neb.; grandparents, Fred and Ruth Shields of Red Oak; grandparents, John and Edith Jackson of Villisca; brother-in-law, Lowell Myers of Springfield, Mo.
Teresa is survived by her son, Craig Lane of Elliott; her son, Jason Lane and his wife Mischel of Elk Grove, Calif.; brother, Rodney Jackson and wife Cindy of Westminster, Colo.; brother, Victor Jackson and his wife Lisa of Emerson; sister, Debra Urash and husband Mike of Red Oak; sister, and Veta Myers of Springfield, Mo.
She is also survived by five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins, all of whom she loved dearly.
