Wayne Franson, 72

Wayne Kent Franson, 72, Red Oak, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, May 19, 2025, at his home.
Wayne was born June 30, 1952, in Red Oak, the son of Ivan and Marguerite (Kraftt) Franson. He was raised in rural Morton’s Mill. He attended school for many years in Griswold, then graduated from Red Oak Community High School in 1970. He was a carpenter by trade and worked for Oakview Construction for many years. Wayne retired from Montgomery County Memorial Hospital after many years of service. He loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing, and taking care of his farm.
Preceding him in death were his parents and sister, Joyce Franson.
Survivors include his son, Cody Franson and wife Abbi of Moville; grandchildren, Cooper and Kendall Franson; brother, Neal Franson of Los Angeles, Calif.; and many other relatives and friends.
A celebration of life service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, May 30, 2025, at the LeRette Funeral Chapel with a time of lunch and fellowship to follow at McAlpin Place. A private family interment will take place at a later time at Morton’s Mill Cemetery.
