Photo exhibit to honor Iowa soldiers

RED OAK — A special photo exhibit honoring Iowa soldiers killed in the War on Terror debuts Sunday morning with an open house at the Wilson Performing Arts Center.

“Remembering Our Fallen,” was unveiled at the Adel DeSoto Minburn High School in Adel, Iowa on May 1. The exhibit features photographs and biographical information on 71 Iowa soldiers killed in the Middle East.

“We can never forget those who sacrificed everything for our freedom. We must remember these American Heroes and speak their names when we see their family members,” said Bill Williams, exhibit co-creator. “This exhibit is created in such a way so it can travel easily throughout Iowa, so that more people will have the opportunity to honor and remember Iowa’s Fallen.”

Williams will discuss the exhibit at an open house Sunday at 9 a.m. at the Performing Arts Center. The exhibit will be available for viewing from June 19-26, free of charge.
