Race Weekend: Sept. 3

Here's a look at what's going on at area race tracks this weekend.

CORNING — At Adams County Speedway, there's two weeks left of racing for the NASCAR Whelan All-American Series.

Saturday night's main feature will be the Late Model King of the Hill races.

JC Wyman holds a two-point lead in the Late Model Series over Paul Glendenning. Both racers were tied last week going into the Aug. 27 races. Wyman picked up the two points thanks to a third place finish. Glendenning was fourth.

In the Modifieds series, Jeff James (411), holds a one-point lead over Kirby Stiens. Dennis Elliott held the lead last week, but lost it thanks to a 12th place finish on Aug. 27

In the B-Mod series, Bill Gibson looks to build upon his lead. He currently has 329 points with no one within 60 of him. Gibson won his seventh race of the season, last Saturday.

Jason Rold (449) maintains a 30 point lead in the Pro Stock series over Tony Hardisty. Hardisty won last week's race, with Rold finishing second.

Finally in the Hobby Stock series, Matt McAtee (457), holds a 29-point lead over Pat Shiflett. Both racers were second and third at last week's races.

HARLAN — This Saturday night at Shelby County Speedway, all of the season championships will be given out.

Only two series' have less than a 20 point lead.

Jay Stewart (663) holds a two-point lead in the Late Model series over Al Zeitner. Zeitner picked up a couple of points on Stewart when he finished seventh, last week. Barry Sorensen sits in third place, 20 points behind Stewart.

The Modifieds series is the other close one as Brandon Monson (594) holds a 19 point lead over Craig Reetz. Reetz picked up a couple of points with a fifth place finish at last week's races.

Finally, on Saturday, Sept. 10, the Mid-America Motorplex, along with I-80 Speedway, will host a flood relief benefit. The benefit will be held at I-80 Speedway in Greenwood, Neb. Tickets are $30. For more information, check out the Mid America Motorplex website.
