ACCIDENTS

• On Jan. 5, at about 8:20 a.m., Montgomery County Sheriff’s deputies and Villisca Firefighters responded to a reported card in the ditch on 260th Street just west of Willow Avenue. Bailey Hensley, Villisca, driving a 1998 Toyota Camry owned by Niko Hensley of Villisca, was travelling east on 260th Street when the vehicle skidded off the road due to slick conditions, entered the north ditch, and hit a power pole owned by MidAmerican  Energy, shearing it off. Damage to the vehicle was about $1,800, while damage to the pole was estimated at $1,200. No citations were issued.
