ACCIDENTS

• On June 14, at about 3:10 p.m., Montgomery County Sheriff’s officers responded to a two-vehicle accident in the 400 block of Broad Avenue in Stanton. Mansor Kia, 81, Stanton, driving a 2010 Chrysler Town and Country, was traveling south on Broad Avenue. Mikayla Fort, 17, Red Oak, driving a 2008 Chrysler Sebring owned by Scott Gass, Red Oak, was backing from a parking space, failed to see the Kia vehicle, and hit it. Damage to the Kia vehicle is estimated at $3,500, and damage to the Gass vehicle is about $1,500. No citations were issued.

• On June 16, at about 8:08 a.m., Red Oak Police Department and Red Oak Fire and Rescue were dispatched to a two-vehicle accident near the intersection of North 5th Street and East Coolbaugh Street in Red Oak. A 2010 Pontiac G6 owned and operated by Natacia Houston, 22, Red Oak, was traveling east on Coolbaugh Street where a 2015 Ford F-150 pick-up and utility trailer owned by Dale Wheeler, 71, Red Oak, was legally parked. Houston was unable to see due to sun glare, which caused her to drift to the right and strike the pick-up and trailer. Damage to Wheeler’s pick-up is estimated at $4,000 while the trailer is considered to be a total loss with $2,000 in estimated damage. The Houston vehicle has about $4,500 damage. Houston was transported to Montgomery County Memorial Hospital for observation and possible medical treatment.
