ACCIDENTS

• On June 25, at about 1:19 a.m., Red Oak Police officers investigated a two-vehicle accident at Inman Drive and 8th Street. Brooke Carpenter, 22, driving a 2008 Mercury Milan, was traveling south on 8th Street and was hit from behind by a 2011 Chevrolet CZL driven by Sara Orme, 28, Omaha. Carpenter hit her brakes because of a vehicle in front of her slowing down and Orme was unable to stop. Damage to Carpenter’s vehicle was about $2,000, while damage to Orme’s vehicle was estimated at $6,000. No citations were issued.

• On July 1, at about 6:15 p.m., Red Oak Police officers investigated an accident on 8th Street. Ashley Brower, 18, Red Oak, driving a 2005 Chevrolet Tahoe, was traveling north on 8th Street when she lost control and struck a light pole owned by MidAmerican Energy. Damage to the light pole was about $500, and damage to the Brower vehicle was estimated at $6,000. Brower was charged with fail to maintain control.
