Accidents
• On July 16, at 11:56 a.m., Red Oak Police officers investigated an accident in the 2400 block of North 8th Street. Chester Vaughan, 82, Red Oak, driving a 2016 Ford Explorer, was traveling south on 8th St. At the same time Karrin Christensen, 20, Red Oak, driving a 2021 Chevrolet Spark, pulled out of the parking lot of City View Apartments. According to the report, Christensen said she didn’t see the Vaughan vehicle and her vehicle struck it in the side. Damage to the Vaughan vehicle is about $3,000, and damage to the Christensen vehicle is about $5,000. Christensen was issued a written warning for failure to yield upon entering a through highway.
