ACCIDENTS
• On Aug. 20, at 11:45 a.m., Montgomery County Sheriff’s deputies investigated a two-vehicle accident on Highway 34 at the west side on the Nishnabotna River bridge construction site at the signal light. Jimmie Kalkas, Red Oak, driving a 2020 Ford panel van owned by Red Oak Greenhouse, was stopped at the red light. Jerry Wagaman, Emerson, driving a 2008 Mack box truck owned by Red Oak Welding Supplies, was coming up to the stoplight but did not stop and rear ended the Kalkas vehicle. Damage to the Wagaman vehicle was about $6,000, and damage to the Kalkas vehicle was about $6,500. There were no injuries, and the investigation is ongoing.
