ACCIDENTS
• On Oct. 18 at 9 a.m., Montgomery County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a two-vehicle property-damage accident in Stanton. Linda Hicks, 70, Stanton, driving a 2016 Nissan, was traveling north on Halland Avenue and stopped at the stop sign at the M-63 intersection. Tayna Reynolds, 43, Stanton, driving a 2008 Dodge Caravan owned by Dennis Reynods, Stanton, was also traveling north on Halland Avenue. According to the report, Reynolds failed to get stopped behind the Hicks vehicle and struck it in the rear. Damage to the Hicks vehicle is about $1,200, while damage to the Reynolds vehicle is estimated at $1,400. No citations were issued and no injuries were reported.
• On Oct. 19, at 1:11 p.m., Red Oak Police officers investigated a two-vehicle accident in the 1700 block of North Broadway. Robert Irr, 57, Creston, driving a 2013 Chevy Traverse owned by Agrivision Equipment Group, was traveling north on Broadway when traffic stopped. Shelly Shuffler, 55, Red Oak, driving a 2006 Chrysler Town and Country van, was also traveling north on Broadway and, according to the report, did not see the vehicles stopping and was distracted by answering her cell phone. The Shuffler vehicle struck the Irr vehicle. Damage to the Irr vehicle was about $3,000, and damage to the Shuffler vehicle was estimated at $5,000. Shuffler was cited for no insurance – accident related, and also received a warning for following too closely.
