ARRESTS

• Filed Dec. 14, Cody Sparks, 28, Villisca, driving while revoked, $1,000 cash bond.

• Filed Dec. 16, Jacob Avery, 22, Red Oak, domestic assault, held on no bond.

• Filed Dec. 16, Marcus Josephson, 32, Red Oak, probation violation, $5,000 bond.

ACCIDENTS

• On Dec. 19, at about 7:26 a.m., Red Oak Police officers investigated an accident in the 1200 block of Reed Street. Catherine Skinner, 61, Red Oak, driving a 2010 Ford F150 pick-upowned by Bradley Skinner, Red Oak,, was backing out of a driveway and failed to see Jessica Gooding, 38, who was trying to get into her 2012 Hyundai Accord, which was legally parked. Skinner’s vehicle struck the Gooding vehicle. Gooding also stated that she was struck by the bumper of Skinner’s vehicle and complained of possible injury. She stated she was going to the emergency room by privated vehicle for evaluation of possible injury. Damage to the Skinner vehicle was about $500. Damage to the Gooding vehicle was estimated at $1,500. No citations were issued.

At Dec. 19, at about 9 a.m., Red Oak Police officers investigated a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of Corning and Highway 48. According to the report, Gail Golden, 76, Red Oak, driving a 1997 GMC Jimmy was traveling west on Corning and had a green light. Golden entered the intersection, where her vehicle was struck by a 2006 Lincoln Navigator driven by Melissa Stickland, 40, Red Oak, when it ran the red light. Damage to the Golden vehicle was about $3,000 and damage to the Stickland was estimated at $1,500. Stickland was cited for running the red stop signal. 

On Dec. 19, at 10;30 a.m., Red Oak Police officers investigated an accident in the 700 block of North 2nd Street. At about 10 p.m. on the night of Dec. 18, Anthony Briggs, Red Oak, parked his 1998 Chevrolet K1500 pick-up in the 700 block of North 2nd Street. The next morning he found that a vehicle has struck the rear of his vehicle. Officers found parts to another vehicle and believe it is a 1990s Chevy truck, possibly blue. There were also skid marks leading to the back of the vehicle. Damage to Briggs’ vehicle is $1,500.
