Sheriff's Report

The Red Oak Police Department and/or Montgomery County Sheriff’s Department reported the following incidents with arrests between March 3 and March 10.

On March 9 at approximately 8:04 a.m., the Montgomery County Sheriffs Office responded to a single vehicle property damage accident. Janet Loverin, age 49, of Walnut was operatinga  2000 Toyota Camry east bound on County Pavement 110th street when she lost control of the vehicle in the slush that was on the roadway. The vehicle entered the south ditch striking a fence owned by John Giltner of Elliot. Damage is estimated at $750 for the Loverin vehicle and $400 to the Giltner fence.

On March 9, at approximately 10:16 p.m., deputies of the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Department arrested Tyler Bowers, age 26, of Elliott, for possession of marijuana and open container. The defendeant was transported to Montgomery County Jail where he was held on $1,000 bond.

On March 10 at approximately 6:36 p.m., deputies of the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Department arrested Jesse Allen Luft of Villisca for driving while barred. The defendant was transported to the Montgomery County Jail where he was held on $2000 bond.

On March 10, at approximately 9:32 p.m., the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office arrested Tausha N. Ruggles, 22, of Elliott. Ruggles was located at her residence and was arrested on a Page County warrant charging her with a count of fifth degree theft. Ruggles was transported to the Montgomery County Jail where she was booked and released following posting a $300 bond.

On March 11, at approximately 2:25 a.m., the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office arrested Gary L. Clark Jr. on a charge of driving while license under revocation. Mr. Clark had been observed operating a white 1992 Chevrolet Lumina in Elliott. Mr. Clark’s privilege to operate motor vehicles in Iowa was under Revocation at the time he was observed driving on a public street. He was arrested and transported to the Montgomery County Jail where he is being held in lieu of a $1,000 bond.
