Accident Reports

On April 8, at 12:20 a.m., the Montgomery County Communications Center recieved a report of a single vehicle accident at 200th St., near P Ave., with injuries. Upon arrival, the accident was located about 1/2 mile west of Nature Ave., on 200th St. A white 1995 Mercury Sable owned by Deborah L. Howe, of Stanton, and operated by Austin R. Becthold, of Stan-ton, was traveling eastbound on 200th St., and struck a deer. While trying to avoid collision with the deer, Becthold travelled north across the center line, left the roadway and struck the abutment in the road ditch which caused the vehicle to become airborne. The vehicle impacted the ground rolling and came to a rest on it’s wheels facng to the southwest. Becthold and the passenger, Alex Becthold, also of Stanton, were both transported to the Montgomery County Memor-ial Hospital for treatment of nonlife threatening injuries. The vehicle sustained an excess of $3,000 in damage and is considered a total loss.
