Red Oak bowling gets wins over Lewis Central

COUNCIL BLUFFS—The Red Oak bowling teams continued its winning ways by defeating Lewis Central, last Tuesday.

The boys varsity team held off Lewis Central by 21 pins, winning 2,997-2,976, while the girls were able to get the win 2,343-1,954.

The boys team had to rally in the baker games as they trailed after the series matches.

They bowled four 200-plus baker games, including a 248 in one of the games, to edge out Lewis Central. David Terry led the way for Red Oak by bowling a 470 series.

Shane Majerus also contributed to the winning effort by bowling a 428 series.

For the girls varsity team, Maranda Myers and Jayden Hilding led the way as Myers had a 332 series, while Hilding recorded a 330.

Red Oak’s girls varsity team is 7-1 this season, while the boys are undefeated at 8-0.

The junior varsity teams split their games against Lewis Central as the girls won 1,710-1,508, while the boys lost 2,124-2,011.

Allison Aufdenberg led the way for the girls JV team with a 338 series, while Breaan Berkey had a 281 series.
Adam Zenor had the top JV boys series as he recorded a 301 for the meet.

Red Oak’s lone meet for the week was Monday in Shenandoah.

Results weren’t available as of press time. This will be Red Oak’s last meet before the holiday break.
The team won’t be back in action until Jan. 4 when they host Lewis Central.
