Red Oak Cross Country places at Harlan
HARLAN — The Red Oak cross country varsity boys team finished 10th out of 14 teams at the Harlan Cross Country Invite on Saturday.
Alex Jorgensen was the top finisher as he placed 19th with a time of 18:23. Travis Fournier finished 51st with a time of 19:38. Tyler Ranner and Logan LeRette were 69th and 70th, respectively. Josh Sunburg took 76th and Jake Smith was 79th for Red Oak.
Red Oak’s girls’ varsity cross country team had only two competitors, therefore they didn’t have a team score. Ellen Fellers finished 57th with a time of 19:08. Bevin Griffen was 72nd with a time of 22:12.
The junior varsity boys team finished eighth out of nine teams competing in the JV field.
Jared Sherman was the top finisher for the JV team, placing 10th with a time of 22:03. Marcus Blay and Chris Allison were 90th and 91st for the Tigers. Gage Palmer finished 95th with 23:36. Hayden Berry, Tanner Allensworth and Michael Manchester were 121st, 122nd and 129th.
For the middle school boys team, Weston Rolenc placed 17th, while Lyndon Bright was 38th and Sean Griffen 44th.
Last Tuesday, the Red Oak varsity teams competed at the Creston Cross Country Invitational at the SWCC campus.
Red Oak’s boys team finished ninth out of 10 teams competing.
Jorgensen once again was the top finisher for Red Oak, placing 14th with a time of 18:19. Brandon Bergren finished 41st, Sunberg 49th, LeRette 50th, Ranner 61st and Fournier 67th.
The girls varsity team had three runners competing, therefore they didn’t have a team score. Fellers finished 41st, Britt Plambeck was 55th and Griffen was 58th.
The junior varsity boys team placed eighth out of nine teams. Sherman was 45th, Allison 78th and Blay 97th. Caleb Orme took 102nd, Gage Palmer was 110th and Berry, Allensworth and Manchester were 119th, 123rd and 124th.
