Red Oak to hold high school bowling assembly Friday

RED OAK — Red Oak High School will hold an assembly Friday to honor the achievements of the Red Oak Bowling team.

Students will be released and sent to the auditorium for the assembly, which begins at 2:45 p.m. The program will be open to the public.

Both of Red Oak’s bowling teams finished in the top six at the state tournament.

For the third straight year, the Red Oak boys’ team took home second. The girls’ placed sixth.

Taylor Mellott finished fifth individually at the state meet, which was held at Plaza Lanes in Des Moines Feb. 23.
