Red Oak loses at Treynor Triangular

TREYNOR — The Red Oak Tigers baseball team lost both of their games at Saturday’s triangular at Treynor.

Red Oak lost to Corning, 13-7 and then to Treynor 16-1 in four innings.

Against Corning, Red Oak stayed close, even taking a 6-4 lead in the fourth inning. However, Corning scored seven runs in the fifth inning to take back the lead and maintain it through the rest of the game.

In the game against Treynor, the Cardinals scored at least one run in all four innings. They would score a combined 13 in the last two innings, including eight in the fourth.

Last Thursday, Red Oak lost a doubleheader to the Denison-Schleswig Monarchs.  Red Oak lost both games by a 12-1 score.

Last Tuesday, Red Oak lost in five innings, 11-1, to the Clarinda Cardinals. Red Oak was tied 1-1 after the first inning, but Clarinda would score 10 total runs during the third, fifth and sixth inning.

Monday night, Red Oak was home to play the Glenwood Rams. Results weren’t available as of press time.

The Tigers busy week continues Tuesday night when they’re home to play the Shenandoah Mustangs. Red Oak will follow that up

Wednesday night with a trip to Council Bluffs to play St. Albert.

They’ll play a doubleheader at home Thursday against another Council Bluffs school, Lewis Central, at home.

Finally on Saturday, Red Oak will be competing at the Atlantic Tournament.
