Red Oak sweeps Denison in bowling
RED OAK — The Red Oak bowling team swept Denison-Schelswig during a meet Thursday at Red Oak Lanes.
The girls found themselves in a close match as they won by two pins, 2,391-2,389. The boys match-up was also close, but resulted in a 2,966-2,913 victory.
Leading the way individually for the girls was Shaely Nowels, who had a 199 high game on her way to a 387 series.
Breann Berkey had a 332 series, while Jasmine Forward bowled a 294 and Alexa Gilleland had a 292.
Brenna Craig had a 285 series, while Kendra Hardy finished with a 270.
Leading the way for the boys team was Dylin Keat, who had a 255 high game on his way to a 451 series.
Shane Majerus recorded a 420 series, while Garrett Patterson finished with a 419.
Ryan Plambeck was just outside of a 400 series as he bowled a 391. Chase Rea had a 344 and Tristan Piper recorded a 321.
The JV teams split their meets with the Monarchs as the boys won 2,348-2,334, while the girls lost 2,011-1,949.
Leading the way for the boys team was Keatis Kunze, who had a 379 series. Johnathon Ernst had a 327 series, while Jesse Houston recorded a 307. Christian Horn had a 236 series, while Caden Rea and Andrew Shalters each had 235.
Leading the way for the girls team was Hannah Shalters, who had a 320 series. Dakota Girouex had a 294 series, while Jessalyn Davis had a 273.
Brooklyn Neligh had a 238 series, while Mariah Craig bowled a 220. Kyla Gass had a 210 series.
Red Oak will be back in action Tuesday when they host St. Albert. The action starts at 3:30 p.m. at Red Oak Lanes.
