Red Oak swimmer helps LC at state swim meet

MARSHALLTOWN — Red Oak High School athlete Brandon Farnum helped get Lewis Central a top finish the 2011 IHSAA State Swimming Meet.

Farnum, along with R.J. Hemmingsen, Jimmy Hawk and Ben Kurz, took ninth in the Men’s 200-Yard Freestyle Relay.

The same team also finished 12th in the Men’s 400-Yard Freestyle Relay.

Individually, Farnum finished 22nd in the Men’s 100-yard Freestyle with a time of 50.23.

He also competed in the 50-yard Freestyle and finished 24th with a time of 23.07.
