Red Oak Tigers finish 10th at Harlan

 

The Red Oak cross country teams finished in 10th and 13th places at the Harlan Invitational Saturday. 

Alec Selberg led the boys team with an 18th place finish, running the course at the Harlan Country Club in 18 minutes and 24 seconds. Teammate Weston Rolenc was 39 seconds back (19:04), good for 32nd place. 

Liam Eubank (59th), Ben Koppa (73rd), Jacob Cashatt (76th), Ryan Dyson (83rd) and Rob Vial (85th) rounded out the varsity lineup for the Tigers. With 249 points, Red Oak was 28 behind ninth place Underwood. Harlan won the team championship with 43 points. 

On the girls’ side, Ashley Brower ran a time of 23:25, good for 44th place. Juhiana Boeye came in 66th with a time of 25:05 while Paige Shirley finished 77th with a time of 27:47. Emma Ross and Abgail Sherman also competed for the varsity squad, finishing 84th and 87th, respectively. 

The girls’ team score of 349 points was 27 behind 12th place St. Albert. Denison won the meet with a score of 47. 

Red Oak’s boys’ and girls’ teams are back in action Thursday as they travel to Shenandoah for a tournament.
