Reduction in force at American Hydraulics

Twenty-six employees of American Hydraulics’ Red Oak location were laid off Monday, Jan. 6, confirms The Greenbrier Companies Senior Vice President, External Affairs and Corporate Communications. 

Isselmann said the reduction in force was due to “business conditions.” He added those laid off were temporary and permanent employees.

Isselmann said the market for railway equipment is “tight" and they are watching conditions appropriately.

Isselmann could not disclose whether those laid off were provided severance and said they feel

the reduction in force was adequate enough to where a second layoff is unlikely.

“Red Oak is an important community for Greenbrier and we value AHI as a member of our

railway car supplier network,” said Isselmann.
