Rivalries stay alive for Red Oak football in 2010-11 seasons

RED OAK – The rivalries will continue for the Red Oak Tigers football team, as they will face Clarinda and Shenandoah in the next two years, despite moving up to the 3A class.
Last week, the Iowa High School Athletic Association released their schedule for the 2010-11 football season.
The Tigers open their season at Clarinda, followed by their home opener against Shenandoah in non-district contests.
The Tigers’ next two games will be against non-Hawkeye 10 competition as they host Carroll followed by a trip to Wintercrest.
Their final games all consist of Hawkeye 10 opponents including a home game against reigning state champion Harlan and Senior Night against Atlantic to finish their regular season.
The Corner Conference teams had very little change in their conference. Fremont-Mills dropped from Class A to 8-man football joining the Corner Conference, while Farragut and Hamburg combined programs.
Stanton has one of the biggest non-district challenges facing CAM-Anita and Lenox in their first two contests.
Villisca will also play CAM-Anita along with Melcher Dallas in their first two games while East Mills will play Lenox and Woodbine to kick of their season.
The Wolverines will have test their meddle as they face Woodbine, Lenox, Stanton, and Sidney to start off the year.
Essex will face Seymour and East Union-Afton to start off the year before they open their district play hosting Villisca
The only changes to Griswold’s schedule in the 2010-11 seasons are the addiction of Audubon to their district and a non-district game against Riverside, Oakland dropping Nodaway Valley from the Tigers’ schedule.
