Robert Smith, 85
Rev. Robert Smith, 85, Red Oak, died Thursday, Feb. 21, 2013, at the Good Samaritan Society.
Robert Lee Smith was born Nov. 16, 1927, in Nodaway, the son of Mearl and Bernice (Kapple) Smith. Robert married Mary Eyberg Aug. 22, 1948, in Arispe.
Preceding him in death were his parents; wife, Mary on Nov. 28, 2011; and a brother, Cleo Smith. Survivors include his children, David Smith of Omaha, Gene Smith of Arlington, Neb., Paul Smith of Promise City, Roy Smith of Pulaski, Wis., and Marianne Heyne of Lajes Air Base, Azores, Portugal; 15 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; four brothers, Dale Smith of Goodyear, Ariz., Gene Smith of Villisca, Donald Smith of Hillrose, Colo., and Marvin Smith of Nodaway; two sisters, Dorothy Bozwell of Red Oak and Beverly White of Englewood, Colo.; and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 28, 2013, at the First United Methodist Church. Burial will be in the Nodaway Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 27, at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel.
Memorials are suggested to the Joy Camp of the Mobile United Methodist Missions to help with church camp scholarships. Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
