ROCIA releases update on Downtown Renewal project

In an effort to keep investors and the community at-large abreast of the downtown project, the Red Oak Chamber and Industry Association in partnership with the City of Red Oak will be releasing periodic updates.

Current work

Some of the trees to be removed have been removed. The remaining trees are large enough they are hiring a professional firm to take them down in order to avoid causing any damage to private property.

Upcoming Work

Thursday, Aug. 16  – Will be working on storm sewer connection at the alley on the north side of the Library, on the east side of 2nd Street. This will be for a storm sewer inlet that will ultimately be constructed to drain the water from the new City parking lot at that location.

Monday, Aug. 20 – Begin work on water valves at the intersection of Coolbaugh and 3rd St. This will likely take a couple days. Therefore Coolbaugh Street, will be closed between 2nd and 3rd Streets.

Wednesday, Aug. 22 – “If” work goes as planned at the previous location, will begin working on water valves at the intersection of 4th and Reed Street. Again, this may take a couple days to complete.
