Sanders coming to Red Oak

RED OAK – Less than a week after filing a federal lawsuit against his own party, presidential candidate Bernie Sanders will be in Red Oak talking to voters.
Sen. Sanders’ (D-Vermont) campaign officials announced last week he would be at the Red Coach Inn and Restaurant Wednesday at 10 a.m. for a “town meeting.”
According to a press release, the longtime-Independent-turned-Democrat will “discuss a wide range of issues, including his plan to combat climate change, his college affordability plan, income and wealth inequality and getting big money out of politics.”
Sanders’ visit to Red Oak comes about seven weeks before the critical Iowa caucus, and just a few days after a contentious week not only for the Senator, but for the Democratic party.
Earlier in the week, members of Sanders’ staff were accused of wrongfully accessing information from Hilary Clinton’s campaign through a Democratic National Committee database, a mistake Sanders apologized for Saturday night during a nationally televised debate.
The DNC responded by suspending Sanders’ access to the database, which includes voter data considered to be essential to a presidential campaign.
Sanders’ campaign then filed a lawsuit Friday seeking access to the database, but shortly thereafter, the DNC reversed its stance and lifted the ban.
