School construction making strides

Work is progressing well on the two building renovations currently underway in the Red Oak School District.

Red Oak superintendent Tom Messinger said that at the Inman Primary School site there have been great strides made in the project.

“The sprinkler system has been nearly finished. They are completing the work of getting the system completely sealed up and charged. Once that is done, they will be working through the fire marshal to get it inspected and approved,” Messinger said.

He added the cabinets at the Inman site are in and the sinks will be soon. The rooms are taking on the appearance of classrooms with all the furnishings.

At the high school campus, the work has largely moved to the inside of the building and to the activities center located by the tennis courts.

“On the inside the painters have been busy, the tiles have been worked on, and the transitions to the new additions are underway. There has also been a quote received to do some water proofing in the boiler room. The water has continued to be an issue there and a permanent solution has been sought. Once approved there will be work done to resolve the issue and keep the water under control,” commented Messinger.

Additionally, Messinger said the steel has been put up around the activities center and the building is taking shape.
