Scoreboard: Stanton, Essex win

The Viqueens stayed ahead in all three games. They took the first game 25-20 and the second one 25-18. Stanton clinched the match with a game three win 25-19.

Amanda Focht had nine kills on 19 attempts for the Blue Jays. Villisca will be back in action Tuesday when they head to Clarinda to take on Clarinda Academy.

Stanton will be in action Monday to face Corning.

Essex 3, East Mills 0

The Essex Trojannettes have won their third straight match.

Essex won the first game 25-14, but needed extra points to win games two and three. They won game two 30-28 and game three 26-24.

Kym Graham led the Trojannettes with nine kills against the Wolverines. Essex is now 4-4-1 for the season. They'll be back in action Tuesday night when they face Sidney.

East Mills meanwhile is 1-9 for the season. They will compete in a tournament in Afton Saturday.
