Senator from Red Oak
Iowa Sen. Joni Ernst (R-Red Oak) takes the Oath of Office Jan. 18 at the state capitol in Des Moines.
Ernst was elected the 48th District representative to the Senate in a special election Jan. 4, to fill the seat vacated by Lt. Gov. Kim Reynolds. The two-term Montgomery County Auditor will represent residents in Adams, Clarke, Decatur, Union, Montgomery, Taylor and Ringgold Counties. “It is an honor and privilege to be representing my district at the Capitol and I look forward to working with the rest of the legislature on important issues facing Iowans. This session, we need to put Iowans back to work and break down the barriers to job creation that have been plaguing this state,” Ernst said.
