Several Stanton players named to all-district team

STANTON — The Stanton Vikings football team had no shortage of players selected to the 8-man District 8 all-district team, released over the weekend.

Senior Greg Focht was honored three times by being named to first team offense, first team defense and first team special teams. For special teams, Focht was honored as punt returner and punter.

Austin Becthold was also selected three times, for second team offense, first team defense and honorable mention for special teams.

Tyler Walter and Andrew Cerven were both named first team offense and defense.

Brent Hanson was honored twice as an honorable mention on offense and a second team player on defense.

Other honorees for the team included Greg Marshall, second team on offense, Ethan Johnson, a honorable mention on offense and Jeff Marshall,  honorable mention on defense.

Jeff Marshall is the only underclassmen on the all-district team.
Stanton finished the 2011 season with a 8-3 record and a 4-2 record in the district.

They won their first round playoff game against Boyer Valley, before losing to Fremont-Mills in the second round.
