Sexual abuse arrest in RO

 

A 21-year-old man from Red Oak was being held Monday in the Montgomery County Jail, accused of felony sexual absue.

According to a press release from the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Department, on July 23 deputies arrested Wyatt Kane Bailey, 21, in the 100 block of West Coolbaugh Street in Red Oak. Bailey was charged with third degree sexual abuse, which is a Class C felony.

Bailey was taken to jail, and initially held on $10,000 bond, according to the sheriff’s department’s press release. That bond was increased to $25,000 after an initial appeareance before a magistrate on July 24, according to a document from the Montgomery County District Court. 

Also, the magistrate issued a no-contact order between Bailey and the alleged victim. That order was also ordered sealed.

According to the complaint, Bailey is accused of having sexual intercourse with a 13-year-old girl at a rural Red Oak address. The incident is to alleged to have occurred at about 4 a.m. on May 16. In the complaint, the victim alleges Bailey “forced himself on her and was told to stop multiple times.”

In addition to the previous orders, the magistrate ordered a preliminary hearing on the matter for either Aug. 4, if Bailey is still in custody, or Aug. 11, if Bailey has been released on bond.
