Shyla D. Rodriguez, 16

Shyla D. Rodriguez, 16, died Nov. 28, 2009, from injuries she sustained in an accident near Clarinda.

Shyla Dennise Rodriguez was born Dec. 16, 1992, in Shenandoah, the daughter of Terry Allen and Julie Dianna (Williams) Rodriguez. Shyla grew up in Shenandoah and was currently a junior at Shenandoah High School. She had a love of art and enjoyed drawing. She also loved to listen to music.

She was preceded in death by her grandfather, William Rodriguez and grandmother, Vida Williams.

Survivors include her parents, Terry (Julie) Rodriguez of Shenandoah; two sisters, Nina (Cody) Tunnell of Shenandoah, and Serita Rodriguez of Clarinda; nephew, Richard Tunnell; a niece, Olivia Tunnell-Rodriguez; grandparents, Dennis (Karen) Williams of Shambaugh, Donna Lowery of Shenandoah, Bobbie Rodriguez of Shenandoah; and her boyfriend, Kurt Ailerson.

Memorial services were held Dec. 4 at the Cornerstone Fellowship Church in Shenandoah with Pastor Trevor Skalberg officiating. There will be a private family burial held at a later date.
