Sindt tosses shutout as Griswold beats Audobon 5-0 Thursday

Ali Sindt pitched a three-hit shutout for Griswold in a 5-0 win over Audubon on Thursday.

Sindt struck out seven and walked just one in the win.

The Tigers (4-4 overall, 2-2 in the conference) finally got their offense working in the fourth inning when Katie Carlton smacked a double to plate Britney Hansen.

In the sixth, Hansen walked, stole second and then advanced to third on a wild pitch. Hansen then scored on Carlton’s fielder’s choice.

The Tigers added insurance three more insurance runs in the seventh.

Carlton, Rachele Northrup and Keyla Reynolds each recorded a hit for the Tigers. Carlton had an RBI and Northrup and Reynolds each scored a run.

Treynor plated 10 runs over the first three innings and held Griswold scoreless until the fourth inning in a 12-3 girls softball victory last Wednesday.

The Tigers, trailing 10-0 at the time, finally got on the board in the fourth when Katie Carlton smacked her first career homerun.

They added two more runs int the fifth when Jenny Mortensen scored Jessica Muhlbauer and Britney Hansen drove in Mortensen.

“If we took the first three innings off we beat them 3-2, but things don’t work that way. We have to start playing at the beginning of the game and we have to believe we can play with anyone,” said Griswold coach Peggy Hansen. “We did not look like the same team out there that we did Monday when we had confidence both offensively and defensively.”

Tiger pitcher Ali Sindt surrendered all 12 runs on nine hits while walking four and striking out seven.
