Skid continues for Red Oak at Atlantic Tournament

ATLANTIC — The Red Oak Tigers baseball team lost both of their games at the Atlantic Tournament on Saturday.

Red Oak first lost to Coon Rapids Bayard, 16-2. In their next game, the Tigers lost to Perry, 14-1.

The Tigers losing skid continued Thursday when they lost to Lewis Central, 13-3.

Tanner Johnson had the only multi-hit game for the Tigers as he was 2-for-3 at the plate with one run scored.

Colby Wise and Andrew Palmquist both scored the other runs. Wise was 1-for-2 and Palmquist 1-for-3.

Johnson was credited with the loss, as he pitched 4 1/3 innings, giving up seven earned runs on 12 hits.

Last Wednesday, Red Oak lost to St. Albert, 21-4.

Nick Leinen led the Tigers as he finished 2-for-3 at the plate with a double, a RBI and a run scored.

Travis Fornier, Mason Sheldon and Hayden Berry all scored runs.
Last Tuesday, Red Oak lost to Shenandoah, 7-2.

Fornier was 1-for-3 at the plate with a double, a run scored and a RBI. Dakota White scored the other run for Red Oak.

Wise pitched a complete game for Red Oak, giving up seven runs (one earned) on eight hits and striking out seven batters.

On June 6, Red Oak lost to Glenwood, 17-1, after three innings.

The Tigers were home Monday night to play Creston, but results weren’t available as of press time.

They’re home Thursday night though to play Atlantic and on the road Saturday to face Corning.
