Soar arrested and charged following Go Cart accident investigation

RED OAK — The Red Oak Police Department have arrested and charged Shawn Michael Soar, following a go-cart accident that occurred on Labor Day.

Soar was arrested early Tuesday morning and charged with Child Endangerment (a Class C felony) and Serious Injury by Vehicle (A Class D felony).

On Labor Day, Police Chief Drue Powers said Soar was driving a go-cart, with his two-year-old son as a passenger, when he drove into a 1987 Mazda Pick-Up truck.

The crash critically injured Soar's son, as he was transported by life flight to Omaha for threatening injuries. Soar had minor injuries.

Soar is currently being held on $10,000 bail in Montgomery County Jail.
