Both Villisca and Stanton played Monday night and will be playing Tuesday night as well in their final game before the holiday break.
Villisca will host a basketball doubleheader tonight against the Fremont-Mills Knights. For the Villisca girls team, they look to get a win after losing Monday night to Bedford, 65-44.
The difference in the game was the third quarter when the second-ranked Bulldogs outscored Villisca 27-8.
Amanda Focht's 19 points and eight rebounds led the Blue Jays.
Fremont-Mills is also looking to get back in the win column after losing Monday night to St. Albert, 54-37. The Knights had won three straight games, prior to Monday night's loss.
The Villisca boys team will look for their third straight game as they play Fremont-Mills in the second half of the doubleheader.
Villisca defeated Bedford Monday night, 49-37. The Blue Jays defense gave up just one point in the third quarter, to keep them in the lead. Damon Sunderman led the way with 19 points.
The Fremont-Mills boys team enters Tuesday night, having won six straight games.
Over in Stanton, the girls and boys team play Sidney in a doubleheader Tuesday night, before going on holiday break.
The Viqueens got the win Monday night over Riverside, 59-36. Carmen Subbert and Ragen Anderson each scored 17 points in the win.
Stanton has now won two straight games and a win over Sidney Tuesday night will put them at .500 going into the holiday break.
For the boys, they lost their second game of the season Monday night to Riverside, 49-31.
The Vikings play a Sidney team that has won two of their last three games, after starting the season 1-4. A win over Sidney Tuesday night puts them at 6-2 going into the break.
The Griswold basketball teams will also be in action Tuesday night as they travel to Neola to play Tri-Center.
Griswold's boys team has won their last two games and a win Tuesday night against Tri-Center would give the Tigers a 5-3 record as they head into break.
The Griswold girls meanwhile look to get their second straight win of the season when they play Tri-Center.
Griswold defeated A-H-S-T Friday night, 41-37.
