Sports Calendar: Boys District Basketball starts Monday

The postseason for boys basketball kicks off Monday night as several area teams will be in action.

In Class 2A District 15, both Red Oak and Southwest Valley will be playing first round games.

Red Oak will be at Shenandoah High School as they play the Mustangs. The game is scheduled for a 7 p.m. start. The series is at 1-1 for the season, with Red Oak winning the previous meeting.

Southwest Valley meanwhile will be in Council Bluffs as they face St. Albert. The game is scheduled for an 8 p.m. start at St. Albert High School.

Missouri Valley and Clarinda play first in Council Bluffs at 6:30 p.m.

The winner of Red Oak/Shenandoah and Southwest Valley/St. Albert will play each other Thursday night in the semifinals at Treynor High School. Meanwhile, the winner of Missouri Valley/Clarinda plays Treynor, also on Thursday night.

In 1A District 13, the Stanton Vikings travel to Anita to play CAM. The game is part of a district doubleheader at Anita. The Stanton game is scheduled to start at 8 p.m. The winner of the game will play Nodaway Valley Thrusday night in the quarterfinals.

Audubon and Exira-EHK face off in the first game at Anita Monday night, which starts at 6:30 p.m. The winner plays Griswold Thursday night.

In 1A District 14, Essex will take on Riverside for the first round. They play at Nishnabotna at 6:30 p.m. Winner of that game plays East Mills Thursday night in Tabor.

The other first round game that night features Nishnabotna against South Page. The winner plays Sidney Thursday night.
