Sports Calendar: Nov. 29

Wrestling: Red Oak vs. Denison-Schleswig, Missouri Valley- 5:30 p.m. at Red Oak Middle School

The wrestling season for Red Oak kicks off Thursday evening at the middle school against both Denison-Schleswig and Missouri Valley.

Last season, Red Oak defeated Denison-Schleswig 59-24, but lost 48-33 to Missouri Valley.

With Geoff Sellers, Tanner Mertz, Nick Leinen and many more leading the way, the Tigers wrestling team is ready to go with the goal of getting more wrestlers in the state tournament.

Girls Basketball: Red Oak vs. St. Albert- 7:30 p.m. at Red Oak High School

The Red Oak girls basketball team looks for a 3-0 start to the season, but to do that, they'll need to get by St. Albert. This will be the opener for St. Albert.

Red Oak defeated Griswold Tuesday night 54-39, thanks to a 14-point night off the bench by Bailey Hankins.

Basketball Doubleheader: Griswold vs. Corning- 6:15 p.m. at Griswold High School

Both Griswold teams are coming off losses to Red Oak and would like to avoid the 0-2 start. The Corning girls basketball team lost Tuesday night to Shenandoah, 51-48. This will be the season opener for the Corning boys team.

Basketball Doubleheader: East Mills vs. Underwood- 6:15 p.m. at East Mills High School

The East Mills girls' team has started the season 0-2 and would prefer to avoid an 0-3 start. The Underwood girls are coming off a loss Monday night to Essex.

This will be the first game of the season for the East Mills boys team.

Wrestling: Griswold vs. Atlantic, Audubon @ Audubon High School- 5:30 p.m.

This will be the first meet of the season for Griswold. Some of the returning wrestlers this season include Mason Anstey, Xavier Olivo and Josh Metheny.
