RO’s LeRette: champ at 126
The Red Oak wrestling team competed in two tournaments on Saturday, Dec. 4, with the more experienced wrestlers finishing ninth at the Bob Murphy Invitational at West Delaware and the younger Tigers competed in Treynor.
“The younger Tigers competed with great effort and demonstrated a level of resolve that is encouraging in the early season,” Red Oak assistant coach Nathan Rouse said. “Highlights included a three pinball first place finish by Joshua LeRette and three more pins, one each by Nicole Bond, Josie McCunn, and Nolan Perrien.”
Red Oak finished eighth of 11 teams in Treynor and combined for 51 points.
Results: N. Bond went 1-2 for fifth; LeRette went 3-0 for first; McCunn went 2-2 for fifth; Tymberlee Bentley went 0-3 for sixth; AJ Schmid went 0-2 and did not place; and Perrien went 2-2 for fifth.
Dawson Bond and Brandon Erp led the Tigers at the Bob Murphy Invitational, both finishing in second place in their respective bracket.

“We placed right around where we thought we would,” Red Oak head wrestling coach Tiegen Podliska said. “We went 3-5 in placing matches which can leave a sour taste in your mouth, but most of them were close matches.”
Red Oak competes in Creston tonight at 5:30 p.m.
