Stacie Knop, 34
Stacie Knop, 34, of Emerson, passed away Sept. 3, 2011, at her home.
Stacie Renee (Mather) Knop, was born to Roberta Karen (Whaley/Diltz) Mather and James Earl Mather Sept. 9, 1976, in Omaha.
She grew up in Tarkio, Mo., and graduated from Tarkio High School in 1994. She attended Iowa Western Community College in Clarinda where she studied nursing and earned her LPN.
Stacie worked at the Good Samaritan Home in Red Oak and later worked through a nursing agency which took her to Omaha, and various other locations. In 2005, she began working at the Glenwood Resource Center, where she later received her five-year certificate.
Stacie and Randal Jon Knop were married on May 6, 2000, at the United Methodist Church in Shenandoah. Their marriage was blessed with two daughters, Alexandria Renee and Randi Nicole.
Stacie was a member of Faith Community Church in Red Oak.
Stacie was diagnosed with cancer Sept. 17, 2009. She continued to amaze many of the nurses and medical staff with her enduring inner strength in the way she fought and never gave up.
Stacie was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Virgil Everett Mather; maternal grandmother, Vera Whaley; and maternal grandfather, Dale Whaley.
Stacie is survived by her husband of 11 years, Randy Knop; daughters, Alex and Randi, of Emerson; father, James (Susie) Mather, of Tarkio; mother, Robbie (Eric) Rampendahl, of Red Oak; brothers, Bob (Rose) Ives, of Stanton, and Kevin (Tara) Ives, of Otley; sisters, Christina (Jeremy) Schmidt, of Essex, and Markie Mather, of Tarkio; step sisters, Becky (Quinn) Jordan, of Bellevue, Neb., and Elizabeth (Eddie) Argumedo, of Wyoming; step brothers, Todd (Tanja) Rampendahl, of Germany, and Jeremy Rampendahl, of Omaha; paternal grandmother, June (James) Mather, of Tarkio; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Glen and Diana Knop, of Emerson; brother-in-law, Mark (Candace) Knop, of Henderson; nieces; nephews; cousins; and many friends.
Funeral services took place Wednesday, Sept. 7, at the Faith Community Church in Red Oak followed by interment in the Emerson Cemetery.
A memorial fund has been established.
