Staley sentenced to 78 months

In October 2017, the Red Oak Police Department and the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation became aware of firearms violations involving Kevin Devin Duane Staley Red Oak.

On May 30, agents from the Division of Criminal Investigation obtained a federal arrest warrant for Staley. He was charged with the following: count 1; possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime: count 2; possession of a firearm by a prohibited person.

On Sept. 5, 2018, Staley entered a guilty plea to count two of the federal indictment.

On Jan. 17, in US District Court in Council Bluffs, Staley, 40, was sentenced to 78 months in federal prison. He is required to pay a $100 Special Assessment Fee, and will be on supervised release for three years following his release from federal prison. After the sentencing, he was remanded to the custody of the US Marshal’s Office.
