Stanton places 10 players on District 8 team, three unanimous
STANTON— Ten Stanton High School football athletes, including three unanimous selections, were named to the All-District team in District 8.
Running back Greg Focht and center Andrew Cerven were unanimous selections for first team on offense.
Tyler Havrum was the only unanimous selection for first team defense. He was also named to first team offense and first team special teams.
Havrum and Focht finished second and third in the district in rushing yards and rushing touchdowns. Havrum also led the district in interceptions with seven.
Shayne Larson and Austin Bechtold were also named to the first team on defense. Bechtold finished fifth in the district in tackles for loss with 20. Larson received an honorable mention for special teams.
Receiver and defensive back Brent Hansen was named to the Districts second team on offense and defense.
Hanson finished second on Stanton in receiving yards with 206.
Greg Marshall was the only other Viking to receive second team honors on offense.
Tyler Walter and Jason Clemens were however the other Stanton players that received second team defense honors.
Walter finished second in the district in fumble returns and first in fumble returns for touchdowns.
Bryce Allen received an honorable mention for the offense for his senior season.
Nine Stanton football players were named to the Academic All-District team.
 Allen, Focht, Bechtold, Cerven and Larson, as well as Ethan Johnson, Myles Peterson, Bryton Thoren and John Mainquist received the Academic honors.
