Stanton places five on Corner Conference All-star teams
The award season continues, as the Corner Conference has announced their selections for their all-conference boys’ team.
Some familiar faces are on that list. Brady Johnson and David Sorenson from Stanton were announced as first team elite [unanimous] selections.
Stanton went 22-3 and lost to St. Albert during the substate round at Thomas and Jefferson High School in Council Bluffs.
The Vikings led the conference in selections among the three teams with five total selections.
Johnson led the conference in scoring, as he averaged 15.4 points per game and shot 55.3 percent from the field.
Sorenson averaged 12.6 points per game and led his team in assists with 97.
The first team included other members from the area as well. Miguel Sanchez from East Mills made the first team, as well as Jaymn Vandusen from Essex and Connor Hultman from Stanton.
Vandusen averaged a double-double with 13.8 points per game in addition to 10 rebounds per game.
Hultman averaged 8.4 points per game and grabbed 138 rebounds throughout the season. Sanchez was a tough defender for East Mills all season and also added 8.4 points per game.
