SWV baseball drops two straight conference games

 PLEASANTVILLE — The Southwest Valley baseball team lost 27-0 in three innings at Pleasantville Friday night.

The Timberwolves were hitless as they gave up 13 runs in the first inning, six in the second and eight in the third.

It’s the second shutout loss for Southwest Valley this season.

Bedford 5, Southwest Valley 4

The Timberwolves scored three runs in the bottom of the seventh, but it wasn’t enough as Bedford held on to get the win, last Tuesday in Corning.

Evan Baldwin was the only Timberwolf with multiple hits in the game as he went 2-for-3 with a run scored. Keegan Longabaugh went 1-for-3 with a home run and two RBIs. Nick Frederick and Lane Peterson scored the other two runs.

Southwest Valley was scheduled to play Central Decatur Thursday, but the game was rained out.

The Timberwolves have lost two straight games. Their last win came June 14 against Essex 26-16.

Southwest Valley is home for a varsity doubleheader Tuesday when they take on Mount Ayr. The first game starts at 6 p.m.

Thursday evening Southwest Valley is on the road for a JV/varsity doubleheader against Lenox. The JV game starts first at 6 p.m.

It’s another JV/varsity home doubleheader Friday night when Southwest Valley takes on Southeast Warren.
