Tiger tennis teams bounce Glenwood

The Red Oak boys tennis defeated Glenwood, 8-1, in the Tigers’ season-opening match last Monday, April 6. The meet was held indoors at the Montgomery County Family YMCA.

In singles competition, Red Oak victories were posted by Conrad Metz, Matt Goracke, Brandon Updegrove, Craig White and Dylan Anderson.

The doubles teams of Eduardo Sokolnik - Metz, Goracke-Updegrove and White-Anderson were also victorious.

Dakota White won a junior varsity match for the Tigers.

Last Tuesday, April 7, the Red Oak girls blanked Glenwood, 9-0.

Singles victories were posted by Rachel Pierson, Maci Kinard, Kaely Piller, Brittany Walker, Liz Cooper and Ellen Johnson.

The doubles teams Pierson-Kinard, Piller-Walker and Cooper-Johnson posted a sweep of their matches as well.

In junior varsity action, Kourtney Lamb played six different Glenwood players and won 22 of 24 games played.
