Tigers named to 2010 all-district football team

RED OAK— Five Red Oak football players received 2010 All-District honors, last week.
Running backs Seth Esias and Cole Meek were named to second team All-District on offense in Class 3A District 1.
Esias, a junior, led the Tigers in rushing with 93 carries for 281 yards and one touchdown and was 13th in the district in the rushing category.
Meek, a senior, finished second on the team in rushing with 232 yards on 71 carries.
Red Oak received three honorable mentions for All-District in Nick Leinen, Matt Goracke and Tanner Johnson.
Leinen, who is a sophomore, finished third on the Tigers with 185 yards rushing this season.
Goracke, a senior, finished the season with eight receptions for 113 yards and 11 completed passes for 100 yards.
Johnson finished the year with 249 yards passing, leading Red Oak in the passing category.
Four Red Oak players were named to the All-Academic team in District 1.
The four were Matt Goracke, Colin Streicher, Jeff Updike and Dakota White.
