12:36 p.m. Update: The Red Oak junior varsity boys track meet at Atlantic has been postponed.
UPDATE: The Red Oak tennis (both boys and girls) meets will now take place at the Montgomery County Family YMCA. The meets will now start at 4 p.m.
We've finally reached the month of May, even though it might not feel like it, thanks to the cooler weather.
Temperatures could reach the 50s today, but there is a slight possibility of isolated showers in the forecast.
Track and Field
There are a couple of varsity track meets on the schedule for Thursday.
The big one will be taking place in Griswold as its the Coed meet. Stanton and Southwest Valley (boys) will be among the teams in attendance. The meet starts at 5 p.m. at Griswold High School.
Elsewhere, Clarke High School will host its home girls track meet. Red Oak and Southwest Valley will be among the attendees for the meet, which starts at 5 p.m.
Another girls track meet will take place in Hamburg as Nishnabotna is the host. East Mills and Essex are scheduled to compete at the meet, which starts at 4 p.m.
Finally, if you're looking for something closer to home, the Red Oak Middle School boys meet will be home as they host at the Dick Morrison Track. The action starts at 4 p.m.
Tennis
Both Red Oak teams will be in action for Thursday as they face off against Atlantic. They'll face off at the Montgomery County Family YMCA as it starts at 4 p.m.
Elsewhere, the Southwest Valley girls tennis team will make up its match versus Clarke. The meet starts at 4:30 p.m. It was originally scheduled for Tuesday, but inclement weather postponed the meet.
Golf
Both Red Oak golf teams will be in action for Thursday, but at different road sites. The boys head to Atlantic Golf and Country Club for a triangular versus Shenandoah and Atlantic. The girls face the same teams, but they will be at the Shenandoah American Legion Country Club. Both triangular meets start at 4:30 p.m.
Griswold will host a golf meet at 4 p.m. when they host Audubon.
Finally, East Mills girls golf competes at an invitational at Sidney. The meet starts at 4 p.m.
