Updated candidates for Villisca in school elections

 UPDATE TO THIS WEEK'S SCHOOL BOARD STORY:

The Montgomery County Auditor's office sent out a press release with a revised candidate list for the Villisca Community School District school election on Sept. 8. The new candidate list is as follows: Jason Poston (incumbent), Tom Williams (incumbent) and John McKean. There are three vacant spots.

According the the press release, "nomination papers were filed timely by the candidate with the filing office, Villisca Community School District. However, the filing office failed to deliver the nomination papers to the Auditor by the deadline. The candidate's papers were intended to be received by certified mail at the school. After consultation with the Iowa Secretary of State's office, [McKean] is eligible and will be placed on the ballot."
