Verlene Sparr, 79

Verlene M. Sparr, 79, of Essex, died Wednesday, May 30, 2012, at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha.

Verlene May Sparr was born to Vearl and Neva (Adkins) Creek May 21, 1933, in Nebraska City, Neb.

Verlene is preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Gene.

She is survived by her two daughters, Kathy Collins, of Farragut, and Nancy Sparr, of Essex; two grandsons; and siblings, Bill James Creek, of Nebraska City, and Wava Jean Light, of McCool Junction, Neb.

Funeral services took place Saturday, June 2, at Sellergren-Lindell-DeMarce Funeral Home in Red Oak. Burial was in the Essex Cemetery with Rev. Joanne Johnson officiating. Visitation with the family present was Friday evening at Sellergren-Lindell-DeMarce Funeral Home.
