Vikings eliminated in Corner Conference quarterfinals
COLLEGE SPRINGS — The Corner Conference boys basketball tournament ended for the Stanton Vikings as they lost to the Sidney Cowboys in the quarterfinals 58-23.
Sidney jumped out to a 10-point lead in the first quarter as their lead over the Vikings ballooned to 35-11 by halftime.
Stanton scored two points in the third quarter as Sidney pulled away.
David Sorensen was the leading scorer for Stanton as he posted eight points, as well as three rebounds and two steals.
Jeff Marshall was the leading rebounder as he grabbed 10 boards and scored seven points.
Cade Confer scored four points, while Collin Strickland and Peter Sorensen each had two.
The Vikings reached the quarterfinals when they defeated Heartland Christian last Saturday 60-40.
Stanton was back in action Tuesday night when they were on the road to play South Page.
Results weren’t available as of press time.
Friday night, Stanton will be home when they host East Mills as part of a varsity doubleheader.
