Vikings fall short in non-conference games

 The Stanton Vikings fell short as they lost 16-1 to A-H-S-T last Wednesday.

Stanton scored one run in the first inning, but was kept in check the rest of the game following their loss to A-H-S-T at Avoca in four innings.

A-H-S-T scored eight runs in the fourth inning to win the game via the mercy rule.

Dustin Isaacson scored the lone run of the game, thanks to a RBI hit by Connor Hultman.

Stanton had three hits in the game, two of which came from Hultman. David Sorensen had the other hit for Stanton.

Lenox 17, Stanton 3

The Vikings fell short in last Monday’s loss at home against Lenox.

Leading the way for Stanton was Chris Jones who was 2-for-3 with a run scored. Sorensen was also 2-for-3 with a run scored.

Cade Confer and Jacob Lindren were both 1-for-3 in the game. 

Confer scored a run, while Lindgren had two RBIs.

The Vikings did play part of their game against East Mills Friday night. 

They took a 2-0 lead into the bottom of the fourth inning, but inclement weather led to the postponement.

The rest of the game between Stanton and East Mills will be played July 1 at 4 p.m.

Stanton was on the road Monday night as they played Essex. Results weren’t available as of press time.

They’re back on the road Thursday night as they play Fremont-Mills. The game is scheduled for a 7 p.m. start in Tabor.

The only home game for the week is Friday night when Stanton hosts Nishnabotna. The game is scheduled for a 7:30 p.m. start.
